We all use our mobile phones where ever we are, but it can be surprising where we should not be using our phones and where something designed not to create an explosion should be used. The technical term is intrinsically safe or ATEX mobile phones, and these communication devices should be used in places such as a petrol filling station, airport runway or even around the back of schools that have oil tanks.
These Apex phones are specially designed and manufactured to shield all heat sources and electric energy to prevent a spark that could start an explosion. they are not cheap at around £1000 each, but compared to the devastation a small low voltage spark could make of a business or even loss of life, means these mobile phones are essential in certain environments.
Working on oil rigs, refuelling planes are just 2 jobs where communication is key and where intrinsically safe mobile phones should be used for safety reasons. There are no cameras on these phones, just a number pad and clear voice communications, something we have forgotten about in the world of he modern mobile phone.

The Recent Changes Of UK Mobile Phones
the mobile phone has probably seen the greatest development in such a short time of just about any product known to man. We have gone from a heavy brick type instrument, to a small unit that can take HD videos, photos, manage your day, access unlimited web data, download apps to do just about anything, play games, watch movies, play music and OH yes, make telephone calls, all in a unit the size of your hand.
Actually the size of mobile phone has increased as customers anted bigger buttons on a screen rather than smaller buttons, where mistakes can be made. If you consider the development of the mobile phone batteries to say vehicle batteries, there is a massive difference and you can't help thinking that if the same development had been made to our car, we wouldn't need oil anymore.
The iPhone pretty much changed how we made phone calls, but what types of unit we made it with. the large touch screen and the introduction of apps, made the public see how this electronic device in our pockets could do so much more. Of course there were mobiles that had features like this before the iPhone, but it was the ase of use that got use iPhone mad.
Even the latest Google phone comes near but does not surpass the iPhone. We all know that this type of domination is temporary, just like IBM was with computers someone will come along with something either better or cheaper, but lets see how it goes on for now.
